We got to have our booth because it'd be pretty illegal to deny us. And we haven't won over the right wing conservative nuts just yet. We got 163 people to sign our petition claiming they'd support a Gay-Straight Alliance at our school, and 42 signatures claiming they'd be willing to join if one was formed. We took this to our principal, with tons of information, the mission statement, and a teacher to sponser us, and we were still denied. We can be "unofficial", but she wants to talk to us again during summer school. If we want it to be official, we have to go talk to the school board, and god knows how liberal they are.
That principal is retiring this year, though. She basically sucked. The first time we went to her for the GSA it was flatout denied simply because we mentioned the word "sexual", as in "sexual orientation". Which is really ignorant.
The new principal may be good or bad, who knows.
teach us to care and not to care.
teach us to be still.
