I find it rather ironic in a way how quickly society has completely flip-flopped with it's perspective to cyberspace. When I first was online (oh say, 15 years ago) the Internet was nothing like it is today, and likewise, the position our world took towards cyberspace was completely different as well. It used to be that mothers feared their children's involvement with computers because it was something so few understood and even fewer realized the potential of. It used to be that (even when this community was starting up) people who spent their lives on Internet communities were considered anti-social. Today, we just call these site's "social-networking".

My oh my, has the world really changed as a direct result of the Internet.

Which brings me to my topic: what did you used to do before the Internet was an integral part of your life? Did you ride a bike, play in the park, hang out with friends, steal candy from fat kids or just masturbate to your own imagination?

What did you used to do to "kill time" before the Internet took over your life, and how would you see your life today if it wasn't a part of it?

Hmm.. well 15 years ago I was 10. So.. I guess I was out playing with my friends. Hiking and wrestling in the grass and just being a kid. My earliest memories of online chat/games would be BBS door games. Such as tradewars, barney splatt, assassin, and legend of the red dragon. Mudding was all the rage then. Im glad I dont have to hear the dialup connection sound ever again.. it still haunts me to this day.

Well, for me the internet was good and I only now noticed that thanks to you. Man, 15 years ago all I did was mix pills with absint, tequila or whisky and get drunk almost daily...

before i got the internettt..uh. i had a ton of friends, so every weekend i was having sleepovers, or i was at a sleepover. when i came home from school i went outside and played, rode bikes, hung out around the neighborhood, swam, read books, etc. i was never one for tv though.

nothings really changed though. i have more friends now then i did back then. i go out on the weekends and party it up and i end up staying somewhere. i still spend time outside walking around. i swim, read books, and just chill out.

i AM, however, lacking the amazing tan i rocked when i was a kid. now i work during daylight hours, so i don't have as much time to be outside soaking up sun.

Let me see, I think I was around 8 when the internet hit, then the dot com boom came around when I was in my young teens. What did I used to do?
Watch Beast Warriors on WB. I used to watch wrestling back in the day with DX, back when China wrestled. hmm, I used to spend alot more time fighting with my family that's for sure...

I was 10 when first I discovered the net, 13 before we first got it properly at home. I used to just read and watch tv before it took over my life, i hated all the other kids who lived by or knew, so i stayed in hateing the world and praying one all my planning would come to fruition and i would rule this forsaked hunk of shit

I used to go on the internet when I was around 9 years old. I used to play neopets since it was the cool things to do at the time. Before the internet came into my life, I used to watch tv all the time. I was pretty much your average couch potato, but in child lazy form. Later on about 5 years later, a new school was built and all my friends went there, and I wasn't about to make new ones. So the internet was my scapegoat for the real world. ^^

i only got the internet when i was around 18ish. It was after high school finished and i basically didn't know or like anyone in the town i lived in. that was around 2000. before that i watched tv a lot but i also went outside a lot more. once i got the net i never left the house. i think back in 2001/2002 i didn't step outside for almost 2 months. it was around the same time that i was getting into posting on this site and a few others. I was being a lot more social after the net. then before i had it. I met local people online then met up with them at shows and whatnot. If it wasn't for Metal community's online i wouldn't know anyone i know now. Id probably still be living in that shitty French town too.

but after 6 or 7 years the internet has become very boring and unexciting. if it wasnt to keep in touch with people. (i dont own or ever will own a cell phone. and i hate calling people with my home phone) i dont think id even really need the net any more. I think i could do without it.

Lev (6:43pm): make em feel right at home

Lev (6:41pm): u should put on that nwa song while they r there

UndyingFantasy (6:25pm): weeee. they're here. time for the fun.

UndyingFantasy (6:15pm): speaking of fucking cops.. where are they?

UndyingFantasy (6:13pm): i saw a funny clip on youtube the other day.. the cop gave a guy a long piece of white tape to lay on the ground to walk.. he was like 'alright, let me walk this way and when i tell you to, just put it down'.. well, when the guy went to put it down.. he just face planted straight into the pavement. the cop was like 'well, this sobriety test went well'

Lev (6:09pm): drunks are some of the funniest people they bust. especially when they lie or go with the "i only had two beers" routine while they are struggling to stand up

UndyingFantasy (6:08pm): i'm still trying to find that show.. it's just basically going thorugh the process of booking people.. and they bring in lots of drunks who get angry and have to be restrained.

Lev (6:07pm): hahaha.. i love those ones. usually its so obvious, and then there is some ignorant guy picking one up.. its funny cause most the time i see those hookers, the cops never arrest the one looking for sex because they figure its more of punishment to let them know they picked up a guy

UndyingFantasy (6:05pm): he caught a prostitute and she was like 'i swear i won't tell anyone and i won't charge you for sex if you let me go' and he was like 'lady, you're crazy' and then come to find out..the prostitute was a guy.

UndyingFantasy (6:05pm): when i was in high school i took some law studies class.. so we got to have a cop come in and show his old tapes.. he brought the funny ones
