I know I joke about some other tattoos I have, but those are only imaginary. A couple weeks ago I went and finally got my first.
This is a design I've wanted for a while. I originally saw it in a Kids in the Hall episode where Bauer is trying to buy weed from the devil (it was gratified on the wall).
I got it for obvious reason.
Actually, I drew the design myself... Well, I drew the 6 free handed and then I rotated it to the desired way in Photoshop and the tattoo artist used a print out of it.
I really look forward to getting more... I can't believe I'm 25 and this is my first. I just can't help but think how much blank skin I have. --- "My first (real) tattoo" has been viewed times ---

| | my bad... It wasn't until discussing your message later that I realized what you meant with your post.
I interpreted what you wrote as whether it gives me any pain at work since I type all day - I didn't realize you probably meant superficial problems uptight people have over things like this.
To be completely honest, it never even crossed my mind, nor did I ever consider it as a possibility. Now to some people that may sound naive, but to those, I would encourage you to try living how I do to see how free you will feel. It's nice to be able to perform actions without having to cross-reference the results with possible outcomes. To me, that isn't freedom. To me, freedom is the ability to have thoughts, make decisions and perform actions without being hindered by the possible, negative outcomes.
In any event, I work on the computer so it isn't an issue for me.
I don't think things are quite as bad in Sweden as they are in the states when it comes to superficial things like this. I know a lot of people in the states love to throw fits about anyone with a piercing, and over here it happens to, but I don't think it is nearly quite as bad.
If anyone tries to hassle me over it, I will say its' a religious symbol and is not subject to scrutiny. After all, religion is treated with an utmost level of immunity in society, and this mark was inspired after the text in the bible:
Revelation 13:16-18
"16And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: 17And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. 18Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six."
Note that mine is done on the left hand, not the right (for a variety of personal reasons).
If someone tries to hassle me about it, I will state that it is done as an act of opposition to the Christian faith, and in half-accordance with the prophecy of the anti-christ. After all, that is why I got it, and that is why I got it on my hand as well.~~~~~~~~~~ The problem with the world is that the fanatics are so arrogantly sure of themselves, while the open-minded individual remains filled with doubts.

quoting rockinsmurf:
you got it right on your had right there where the picture is showing?
don't they give you any problems at work?
Yeah, I got it there on top of my hand. I don't have any problems using it. It only really hurt for maybe 4-6 hours after getting it done, and even then it was relatively minor. The next day, typing on the computer was just as normal like it never happened.~~~~~~~~~~ The problem with the world is that the fanatics are so arrogantly sure of themselves, while the open-minded individual remains filled with doubts.

| | yea the dry flaky skin with bits of ink is normal, its just that top layer peeling... touch ups are good especially if your tattoo is exposed to the sun a lot, that tends to fade the ink over time as the skin tans. of course that depends on how much sun you get and how your skin tans.

| | I just took another pic without flash cause you can see the texture a bit better now.
Actually, I think it has pretty much healed up by now. I had some really really minor scabbing. Actually, I don't even think it was scabbing as much as it was coagulation of the lotion I was using. I was really worried when the flakes would come off and pieces of the ink were in it. From what I understand this is normal...?
I assume so since its done doing that and it looks good.
mine never ever got itchy. I read a lot on line that people say that and you just slap it when it happens. I never actually had that problem. I think it has to do with the location on the body.
It cost 800:-. I thought it was kinda expensive, but I was told to expect to pay anywhere between 500-1500, so going by that guideline it was a pretty good deal. It wasn't done by the Jew in Lund, but a really big white dude in Malmo (dalton's tattoo). He was cool cause I didn't even make the appointment til right before. I had sent a few emails to places asking about times and he called me later the night and said I could come down.
There are a few really minor spots which I may get touched up later (where some ink wasn't so defined), but other than that I am quite happy with it.
On an annoying side note, I was at a movie/gaming store about a week ago and I saw the same symbol on the cover of some bluray film (forget what it was called). Man that ticked me off - made me feel like the design was less unique than I thought. In any case, I'm still glad I got it. I can't wait until I'm a born-again, unborn-again, born-again Christian 20-30 years in the future. Haha, that will be funny.~~~~~~~~~~ The problem with the world is that the fanatics are so arrogantly sure of themselves, while the open-minded individual remains filled with doubts.
