I think this place is too complicated for the average user. I mean . . . myspace.com is too complicated for many people . . . hell, AOL is too complicated for many people!
I think if a person even makes it to the site, they find a bewildering array of articles and sections and features that, truthfully, they don't know what to do with or why they should do anything at all . . . much like in real life.
I think it used to be that the internet fostered open-ness. You got on, and you had to be willing to talk to other people and be exposed to new ideas, because all your friends and relatives and your english teacher and your fucking dog didn't have a Myspace and a Facebook and Xbox Live and a cell phone with internet capabilities and an eHarmony.com ad, etc. That was then, but now, with so many more people on, more people are becoming more exclusive and closed-off. Why come to TaintedThoughts and have your ideas challenged and have to assimilate new information when you can go to Myspace and make your profile "Friends Only" and only chat and text and e-mail about the subjects that interest you?
You have to work at this site, whereas those other, more profit-oriented sites are "consumer friendly". Words like "chaos" and "slavery" and "terrorist" aren't on the front page.

A nihilist would rather light an 11 megaton candle than curse the darkness but . . . a nihilist would rather get drunk and eat cake and have sex than light an 11 megaton candle.
