current mood: indescribable
thinking about: posers

In the recent few days past, I have spent quite a bit of time on TT. In this time I have noticed a disturbing lack of traffic. When I stumbled upon TT, I was blown away by the discovery. Here is this totally free site(multiple meanings), that I could possibly meet some people worth knowing. Even if it was only fleeting conversations and little snapshots of weird(and I love the Weird) people doing weird things... whatever that means. I don't fit in to societies view of what a person should be, or how a person should even see reality. To me the world is really nothing more than a collection of energy that managed to spread out into somewhere, and miraculously started becoming aware of itself through this amazing thing called life. Anyway, to find a "place" so full of fresh diversity was just what I had been searching for.

Now we come to present day.

I have spent many hours looking at all of the wonderful pictures, and reading through many forums, and the only thing I can say at this point is; What a shame. Where have you all gone... My Space... Fuck that over glorified glee club of a damn conformist society. This site will die without people to keep it alive. There is a forum about making the site better, I feel that the site is fine. What it really needs is members that actually give a shit about TRUE individualism, and from what I've read in profiles, blogs, forums, and seen in pics, they were here. This is simply one members' attempt to call you out, YOU... the one reading this, I challenge you to participate in something you will probably never appreciate.

P.S. Lev should not be put on a pedestal, but a little reverence for TT wouldn't hurt.

I think this place is too complicated for the average user. I mean . . . myspace.com is too complicated for many people . . . hell, AOL is too complicated for many people!

I think if a person even makes it to the site, they find a bewildering array of articles and sections and features that, truthfully, they don't know what to do with or why they should do anything at all . . . much like in real life.

I think it used to be that the internet fostered open-ness. You got on, and you had to be willing to talk to other people and be exposed to new ideas, because all your friends and relatives and your english teacher and your fucking dog didn't have a Myspace and a Facebook and Xbox Live and a cell phone with internet capabilities and an eHarmony.com ad, etc. That was then, but now, with so many more people on, more people are becoming more exclusive and closed-off. Why come to TaintedThoughts and have your ideas challenged and have to assimilate new information when you can go to Myspace and make your profile "Friends Only" and only chat and text and e-mail about the subjects that interest you?

You have to work at this site, whereas those other, more profit-oriented sites are "consumer friendly". Words like "chaos" and "slavery" and "terrorist" aren't on the front page.

i think this is a nice site, i actually come here to have analysis of life views and other stuff, so i think the site is fine the way it is, but then again, I'm not here all the time, i think probably cause i don't have any of my friends on this site but nevertheless i still frequent here.
plus at least now in the last couple of months, since December I've been going through a lot of emo shit, girlfriend leaving me for one of my "good" friends, coming back to me twice to be dumped in a week and then me going to her for her to just straight out deny me and say i want him. so yeah pretty much i say i wanna come back here when I'm not that emo anymore, but I'll still be around

Hey Lev, even though I appreciate your candor, I wasn't really talking about you. I have a habit of profile surfing on TT to keep myself apprised of who people are in here. More often than not, it will say a last log in date from mid-last year or longer(I must have missed the down time and the like... I'm lucky like that). So you see I really meant the message to be aimed at anyone who logs on from this point. Also, I wasn't to sure where to post this thread to ensure that it would be seen effectively, so I decided to go for broke. Thanks for the front page space TT is important to me, and it appears it was for a lot of others too. The wealth of history contained within TT alone is worth keeping the site going, but dead sites always die. And yeah, I've been to your "levlive", cool site, I can understand why you have been so busy.

Well, any amount of service off-time has always (statistically) proven to dampen life on TT. We've been going through a rather nasty one recently. For the last 2 months and 10 days, the server has been without email capabilities.

This may not sound significant, but it's a HUGE factor that shouldn't be overlooked.

Besides the fact that members weren't able to sign-up for close to two months, lost password emails weren't sending, ecards weren't sending, invites weren't sending, and most importantly: the notifications which inform TT members of updates weren't sending.

It finally was resolved today by our brain dead ISP, so in a couple weeks from now I'd expect things to start picking up quite a bit.

Oh, and my absence around here lately can be attributed to the fact that I have a bazillion games and have been blogging like hell at my own personal site.

I'll try to stop by here more often, and I'll also try to make sure TT uses more up to date code. My site keeps getting features before TT, which is kind of ironic in a way since the system was developed originally for TT. lol
