After a lack of drawing anything for several years (much less: painting), I gave it another shot.

This is acrylic on canvas (10" x 14").

It's been about a decade since painting anything, so please be gentle.

Wow.. that is nice to hear... mainly because the hand in particular is what I am the most unsure about. I like the guy better, and even the gun isn't great in my opinion (but I left it since it was the part NeroAnima said she liked the most when she saw it). I am a bit iffy about the hand; I think it is because of the colors... I had to mentally reverse the lighting source to match with what I had already drawn. The hand holding the gun was modeled after a photograph I had NeroAnima take of myself holding a gun at the angle. I like the guy more, and I think if you could see the actual painting you'd understand that since the paint is a bit thicker around the hand. lol... The man was drawn with my usual comic-book-esque style, while the hand was drawn from a photo, which might explain why you liked that more. I guess in retrospect it wasn't so smart to do half with a more realistic approach and half with my usual style approach.
