There should be a simple plug-in added (possibly somewhere in the right navigation area) that just lists only the top eligible member who is currently winning the contest.

Yeah, I was thinking of making it only for the contest... I guess it could be used for any time period though... But at least in terms of how I was thinking for the contest, it wouldn't show you, me or NeroAnima. I think this is a good idea too, but then does it go inactive after the contest? I mean, does it disapear after the contest? I guess it could always just display the most active member, but that would always be either Lev or Nero. Maybe some coding that said if they have been over there in the last month or two, then go to the next selection. But then again, what if only Lev and Nero are the most active members, then it would just constantly switch between them. After the contest, it could be the most active non-moderator member.
