This was something me and Lev was discussing last night and I figured that I would bring it to TT as I'm very interested in what you guys think.

1. Should homosexuals be allowed to get married?

2. Do you think that homosexual couples should be allowed to adopt?

It would be nice with explanation to why you answer the way you do to this questions and not just no, yes or maybe.

(and I'm putting this item in anything goes as it probably gets more attention here then in say politics or whatever)

It's probably not a big surprise that I would say yes to both. Previous posters have made good points so I don't know if there's any bigger need for me to write down why, as it's similar.

1. I think that homosexuals have much a right to marriage as any other person in the world. I don't see them as doing anything wrong.. they deserve to be as happy (or as miserable ) as the rest of us in marriage. And they have to pay taxes like the rest of us, but don't get the same benefits as the rest of us? I don't see how that could possibly be fair.

2. I agree with Britt here. There are SO many children out there that are in need of love and loving, stable homes. Being gay/lesbian/other doesn't mean you are unable to love a child or are unstable emotionally, mentally or financially. I knew a guy that was raised by his lesbian mother and her girlfriend and he was a good guy overall.. had he not mentioned his 'Moms', i would have never known.
I also know at least a couple of gay/lesbians that have children from other relationships and those are some of the sweetest kids I have ever met.

Basically i see it as love is love, no matter who (or 'what') you are

1. Conflicted. First, obviously, I'm a Christian.. We all know what the Bible says. But on the other hand, I don't think there should be restrictions on love. Unfortunately, I can't chose, but in general, I lean more towards a no.

2. Yes. Tons of kids need to be adopted, and just because people are gay doesn't mean they can't extend love out to a child. I know of a few gay/lesbian couples who either have kids from previous relationships or adopted on their own as a single person and they're very loving and nurturing and their kids are generally well rounded.
