| | | I hate to act presumptuous, but why do I get the feeling this kiddie used to be one of the emo kids and now he comes back after realizing he was just going through a phase?
For the record, there are probably about just as many of us on this community who despise the emo fad, as those who embrace it.
My personal opinion of why so many people used to come to TT and eventually stop is because TT seems to attract the most pretentious folks in society. Sooner or later most of them grow up and realize that the true person they are underneath all their image simply isn't compatible with TT.
I'm guessing the same could be said of the guest here.
He/she was probably incredibly emo, drawn into TT (like so many simple minded folks) because of the apparent lure he/she felt established it as an "alternative" society. Then, probably like 50% of the other TT wanna-be's who eventually stop coming, one day he/she probably came to the realization that TT is not a place for pretentious folks.
A lot of people seem misinformed. TT isn't some gothic/emo/punky myspace/facebook site. That's probably why so many idiots signup enthused one day and later find out that they are much less compatible with TT than they thought.
That's my two cents.
my two cents also strongly pushes me into believing guesty here was a big emo kiddie themselves once upon a time, and now that they grew up from it, and realized how pathetic they once were, they instantly began to start making associations to things they thought were emo.
There mere fact that this guest assumes most folks on here are emo, really says what kind of person they used to be when they did come.
Do the everyone a favor and don't take out your disillusionment on everyone else. Just because you may have been as fake as they come in the past, doesn't mean that everything you then associated with "emo" was in fact emo. You have have seen in that way because that may have merely been the length of your perception. It's just as possible that simplemindedness fogged your ability to even see what TT was truly supposed to be about or represent. Just as it continues to allude you today, as it did then, folks like you will always come and go from TT.
I see it simply as time weeding out those who really aren't compatible with what TT was supposed to be about.
The fact that you think it is about being "emo" simply emphasizes that, in light of what so many members here have said critically of the "emo" fad.~~~~~~~~~~ "In a soldier's stance, I aimed my hand, at the mongrel dogs who teach, fearing not I'd become my enemy, in the instant that I preach. My existence led by confusion boats, mutiny from stern to bow. Ah, but I was so much older then, I'm younger than that now." - Bob Dylan
