What kind of music do you Like or Hate!

I Hate indie pop along with almost all pop crap! It Sucks in so many ways.
first - It for some reason has the ability to lure you into bobbing your head and if your not careful you'll find yourself singing along.
Second - pop songs are so boring that the first time I listen to them I can predict the words half way thru the song. Third - after listening to it for more than 5 minutes you start to feel "stupid happy".
Stupid happy is the kind of happy where you let go of reality and forget about everything! it numbs the mind without control.

I Like what I call Good music. Good music has no specific genre, it is just music that is true to it's self and shows signs of actual thought and effort on the part of the artist. Good music also is unique with in its own genre.

i like a lot of everything. i mainly look for good lyrics & meaning behind the song, but ya cant go wrong with somethin that makes you wanna get up n dance around (: i grew up listenin to the heavy shit though, but yeah, i realized there's so much good stuff out there to just sit here & listen to one "type" of genre. i say explore your options!

well miami is notorious for it's reggae and hip hop genre and man it pisses me off that these people make so much money out of putting no effort into the work they do.
if u pay attention to the background beat it's always the same on every song, the only way to know that it's a different song is the lyrics if u can even call them that. they make no sense at all it's just like stupid rambling for the whole 3 or 4 minutes that the song last.
and then i use to say that if you dont play an instrument then stick to something else, but one of my friends showed me that she can do really good music with her comp and she has no musical talents on any instruments and i do agree that good music has no specific genre, but recently i've been pulled into blues because to me it's like the guitar speaks by itself in it.
absolutely all stupid

You know, fondness of a particular thing, such as music, is really quite reletive. I mean, I may not like a band, but then I start liking a band for a certain song, then I like all of the bands stuff, and then the genre grows on me, and now I have a few cd's of the band that I originally didn't like. Therefore, I both hate and love everything, and it's absence.

I enjoy techno, trance and rave. I also like anything that's rock. I can't completely agree with the 'pop is evil' idea, but I can relate with some songs.

I think the saying "differant strokes for differant folks" really aplies to this post. first of all i am in a rock/screamo band and i love all types of pop and i love knowing the words to songs becuase then you can meet new kinds of people and understand wat thier going through. and i hate country and rap, i dont get it but aparently millions of other people do, i think rap is just a bunch of rich hoodlums acting like thier poor but then thier on a major record label living millions of peoples dreams. and country i think its just a bunch of hillbillies crying about how thier darling left them and how thier lawn mowers mean so much to them, but im not saying its not good music, it just doesnt float my boat.

so i think the idiot that posted this needs to be more open minded and think about what he says before he or she says it.

Lately I've been for listening to music without words. A lot of Trent Reznor's work (remixes mostly) are without words. If I'm drawing, writing, or painting I like to have background noise and not so much influence by words.

Depends on my mood really what I choose, one day it's Zeromancer, Taxim, NIN. Another day it could be Ted Nugent or Infected Mushroom.
But pop is a no... it distracts you entirely too much from your own thinking and is stuck in your head for a week.

I love all music really.... came from a blues, and rock background with my mum, and a real classical one from playing clarinet....and from all the different situations and places, i've found myself listerning to alot of music.
including country...some....and some pop, mainly old pop, madonna.. pop.
But mainly...ok...punk...and all the stupid sub genres that come under that.
I just love music...in general...there are certain bands i can't stand, such as the darkness, but theres no genre i don't listern to at some point.

I listen to mostly extreme metal. (Immortal, My Dying Bride, Bethlehem ect...) but lately iv been listening to alot more industrial, technoish stuff. mixed with metal it can be awesome. (Aborym, Limbonic Art) i also enjoy some classical music and 70s - 80s rock (pink floyd to motley crue) there are select bands from the 1990's mainstream (White Zombie, NIN, Marilyn Manson, Soundgarden, ect...) that i enjoy alot too.

I dislike pretty much all rap and rap related music. pop music gets more horrible by the decade. hippie music, most punk music. Emo, nu-metal, I dislike pretty much anything that only involves a few brain cells to make.

Yea, music is one of those tricky things, likey... defining love, or art... it's to each his/her own.
Perception defines taste in music... so
if some one I met could justify them listening to pop must, and I could respect their statement, then I would respect there prefference, but most people who do enjoy pop music, really are just trying to conform and not in a good way... in the whole "I love society, I love my friends, I love music, lets all dance to Evenesence or Moby, or some black diva girl."
I enjoy the music I enjoy because I like to unfold different layers of a song, I listen to some music for the lyrics... some music for the beats, some music for the shear tallent and some music, just because the song comes togeather in a certain way and the energy of the song corses through my mind and body.
I first REALLY got serious about listening to music when I discovered Tool, and the types of things Maynard was saying really hit me hard on many different levels...
first I respect him for his phylosophy
second I love his formula for music, and how he is a marketing genius who really is a big 'rock star' persona
and I enjoy the raw brutallity of Tool as a band and how the songs evolve and progress that no other band has been able to capture in the same light.
Well that's me for now, and I'd like to say hey to Britt, for the fact that I've been gone for so long and she's the only one I know left here, oh maybe necro too.

Yeah I heard about that prank. Didn't believe it for a second. Even if he did "find Jesus," I don't see why that would set back the release of their next album. Some people are so gullible...

Btw, I agree that Mer De Noms was their best Cd, and no I had no clue it took him that long to write it. That's crazy, but understandable. Maybe he got writers block or something... I've been having that problem lately.

I listen to pretty much all types of rock, although, I have a strong dislike for emo. Their whiny voices and lyrics all sound the same to me. Some rap is ok, like Sage Francis, but I don't like most of the stuff they play on MTV. There are only a few country songs I like, the rest gives me a headache. My favorite artists are Tool, Alice In Chains, Sublime, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Nirvana, A Perfect Circle, System Of A Down... just to name a few.

I listen to all sorts of metal, but also rock, punk, goth and classical...

I hate hiphop and what I call "peknegrer". That would be translated to "pointing-niggers", wich means artists like 50 cent, eminem and so on....

I'll listen to music of ANY type of genre as long as I feel as if it has soul. If it doesn't have any soul to it to me and doesn't speak anything then I don't give a shit about it. But I listen to music of all types. Primarily punk, hard rock, industrial, reggae, a bit of rap here and there a country song here and there, synthasized music... whatever... Pot makes me appreciate music of all kinds basically! as long as I think the music has some sort of creative aspect to it; which sadly I think the majority of the shit they play on mtv and the radio today lack.

I appreciate all kinds of music. Some I like more than others, but really, I listen to everything depending on my mood.

For instance, in my Winamp right now, I have everything from Disney to Underoath, and Eminem to Head Automatica.

I listen to what I want for how I feel that day. If I'm having a good day, I'll put something slightly upbeat, or fast, so it keeps up with my mood. If I'm sad or depressed, I'll pop in some emo or indie. If I'm just pissed, I'll listen to some metal.

HEll, I even listen to Britney Spears.

I don´t hate a kind of music, I just doesn´t listen to it in that case.

I´m a fan of electronic music and about a million other styles What I listens to the most is noise, synth, industrial, body/EBM, soft electronic tunes and some metal. But sometimes it actually sneaks in a hiphop-song (I like Timbuktu alot, swedish rapper...), pop like ed harcourt and mew (I don´t divide that genre since I suck at it), rock, classical, jazz.... u name it.
