Borat - cultural learnings of America for make benefit glorious nation of Kazakhstan

In my humble opinion, this is the best new film I've seen in a long time.

Let me first say that I have never seen a single thing with Ali G before, so this was completely new to me. Like I've said many times before, I don't watch much TV (or even movies for that matter).

The film was hilarious. The constant jabs at social and cultural values and lifestyles had me busting up a lot of the time.

I normally cannot say with confidence that I really enjoyed a new movie, but this one is different.

I'm sure there are a lot of people out there that thought this movie was offensive, a piece of shit or just plain stupid, but I'd have to completely disagree. It was excellent, if you ask me.

I went into it expecting to dislike or hate it, but I left with a completely different feeling.

Highly recommended!

I liked bits and pieces but not the overall film.
I won't pretend to know your feelings... I could never break the chain.

This movie is funny, the first time you see it, then it just gets kinda boring I thought.

I've finally seen this film, and i was in stitches from start to finish. This is Sacha Baron Cohen at his finest i think, and i've seen most of his stuff. I would recommend looking it up.

Also, i've heard that the Bruno film has caused quite a stir already:

I... didnt like it. I realize that some of the things he said and did for shock value was kinda funny, but over all I just kinda yawned and rolled my eyes. It kinda reminded me of an episode of jackass with a miniscule plot with the only redeeming factor being Napoleon Dynamite-ish cliche lines that will be spread for years to come.

I did like the movie, although I didn't think that I would.

Ya the guy that plays Ali-G, Borat and Bruno (a gay astrian fashion reporter.) is a jew himself. the first and second season of the american show is pretty good. all the ones of borat interviewing american politician's and southerners are great.

I'm actually considering purchasing it myself. I did think it was that good. I was with Natio on Friday night and he had rented it... so I watched it with him and was really surprised by how funny it was.. so I ended up downloading it the next night and watching it again the next day with the woman. Even more surprisingly the jokes were nearly just as funny the second time around even after just seeing it.

When Natio and I watched it we rewound the scene with the big dude nekkid on top of borat... damn we got such a kick outta the big dudes balls and the whole scene in general.

Necro, would you recommend any other stuff by Ali G?

I know what you mean about some people being tight-asses. Some people don't have a fucken clue when someone is only joking or trying to show you some other perspective. I honestly felt that half of the time when he was making jew jokes that he was doing it also for the purpose of showing the general feeling of a lot of anti-semites. But no, just bitch bitch bitch.. waaa waaa bottle need a bottle. get a sense of humor [/rant]

It was pretty awesome. i still like the borat clips on the Ali G tv show more. I seen all the seasons. Some parts of the movie seemed to staged/fake.

I found it intresting watching this movie in a theater in Montreal then again in Halifax. The jokes about jews at the inn and the running of the jews got big laughs in Montreal but in Halifax the crowd was full of moans, sighs and gasps with very few people busting up laughing. I always tell people that Halifax is full of uptight idiots. this proved it.

Borat is awesome.
