You might have noticed that the featured member is staying the same for most of your page views while browsing now. This was due to a recent change with how the featured member is pulled. I decided to can the concept of pulling a member at random that is "featured" and instead the site now pulls the last modified profile that is "featured". This was done because it significantly boosts the query execution time, therefor making the site load even faster.
In other words, if you want to show up more often in the featured member area just edit your profile more often. 
In case you are wondering who is "featured", I feature basically everyone that has a profile image.
Thanks to this change, the majority of page loads are now executed within less than a 1/10 of a second, while still maintaining just as much dynamic content.
