i haven't got around to read Thousand splendid Suns.
To me it's a toss up as to whether I prefer the book Kite runner to the movie.
I liked the way the Kite runner started out as a kind of realistic novel about kids growing up and then about the narrator emigrating to America with his father But then when he returns to Afghanistan the tone changed and it seemed to be a kind of mix of "magical realism" filled with the kind of coincidences that you think only happen in folk tales.
The movie didn't quite have that contrast so much as I remember it. So i think I liked this kind of unity in the film. And I liked the actors especially the actor who played the father who is a well known Iranian actor (In the "TASTE of Cherry" By Abbas Kiarostami).
I hope I can find the time to read Thousand Splendid Suns soon
Peace
Kevin
