haha yeah, rolling kansas was a funny one. I didn't think it would be at all to be honest... I searched on google for people's favorite stoner flicks and that one came up by a bunch of people.
I saw "raising arizona", "scarface", "dog day afternoon", and "stephen king's: the stand" lately..
Raising Arizona was really funny. It had a very unique sense of humor - I was thinking as I was watching it, "there has got to be some sort of specific name for this type of comedic style"... It wasn't like the best movie ever, but it might be worth checking out. Oh, and normall I don't even like Nicholas Cage (I think he is an overrated prick), but he was great in this.
I checked out Scarface one night when my homeboy was hanging out with us cause we told him neither of us had seen it before and he is obsessed with that movie (he always says it's his favorite movie). I was expecting something kinda weak to be honest, cause another gangster movie he was into was "blood in blood out" (it has another title name in some countries).. I saw that and didn't like it. But Scarface was a great movie. I haven't seen hundreds of gangster movies before, but it was definitely the best I've ever seen.
I looked up Al Pacino on IMDB (the site the whole fucking world must use for looking up info on movies) and looked into "Dog Day Afternoon".. I started watching about 45 mins of it one day, but I wasn't stoned then and I was restless, couldn't concentrate and just anxious overall, so I gave up on it and didn't think I'd finish it. Then one day I did, and that was the best day of my life. Kidding. No, but it was a pretty cool movie, and I discovered that Al Pacino is a pretty sexy schmuch when he does some of his roles - the cunt. It's at least loosely based on a true story - a bank robbery in brooklyn NY.
I've seen The Stand probably 2 or 3 times before, but I thought I'd watch it again... Even though it's not the movie you'd usually just decide one moment to watch (considering it's more than 5 hours), but yeah.. I don't know. I also think Stephen King is overrated and only as popular as he is because all his crap has this tiny bit of supernaturalness to it, coupled with the good ol' good versus evil (and in many cases "god versus the devil"). But yeah, again.. I usually like most of the movies made after his books (langoleers, the mist, stand by me, shining, etc)... It's just at the same time, I accept that they are pretty damn cliche, but then I debate whether I'm only thinking that because his style has been copied so often. I have no idea. I love stories about the whole world being fucking gone.. Everyone dead from some super war, global disaster, all that distopian shit. Oh, and I really see myself as a hardcore survivalist. In the event of such an occasion, I know that I will be immediately at the top of the food chain, with most of you below me. :D (so to speak) So if you're into that "end of days" junk, check this out.. It has a heavy religious overtone to it, but most of his works do and it's still a decent story.
And that's the story of my life.
The end.
