I'm pretty excited about the game so far. I've seen numerous positive reviews about it and the claims that it's one of the best FFs in a while now. I figured since I have a backwards-capable PS3 I should get back in the Final Fantasy groove. So I bought it yesterday.

I'm not impressed with the graphics. I think this is for a few reasons though. One, I'm used to xbox 360 and PS3 games. Two, PS2 games are known for the extremely jagged edges. Three, I'm playing it on an HDTV and it is being "stretched" or expanded to my screen since it was designed for traditional TVs. The graphics so far are my only real gripe. They aren't bad or anything. Everything is just really jagged. I'm not completely sure if it is just because of the previously mentioned reasons or if it's due to the current backwards capabilities of the PS3.

Well, the other thing that irritates me about the game is that the camera rotation is all inverted and there isn't a way to change this in the settings (what gives?). This drives me nuts cause I'm used to changing the camera the other way around.

In any case, the game looks like it is going to be loads of fun. The battle system is really well designed and feels like an improved Parasite Eve battle system. The voice dialog is surprisingly better than I had expected. The music is top quality, like most FF games. The "license" system looks like it is going to be tons of fun. There are far more positive aspects of this game in my first few hours of playing than negative.

I've only played it for 3 hours so far. I will get to playing it any moment now... Just waiting on the PS3 to download and install the 1.7 firmware update.

Anyone else play FFXII? Anyone complete it?

Yeah, I liked the battle system quite a lot too. I miss Parasite Eve as well. I never completed the second one but beat the first and got pretty far in part 2. I had no idea there is going to be a third in the series. I wish they'd do it on 360 or PS3 instead of cell phones.

Oblivion is an awesome game. It moved to the top of my list of "best games of all time" and it's the first Elder Scrolls I ever played. I can't wait to see what Bethesda can do with number 4.

I really liked it. Though I havent finished it, Im near the end. I stopped playing it so I could play Oblivion on the 360. (the main story arc on that was a HUGE let down) Anyway, it DOES seem like a parasite eveish kinda battle system doesnt it? I miss those games, as both of them were extremely cool. Sadly, the newest installment for that series is going to be ported to cellphones. *sighs*

Well, I finally beat it today.. I was a bit disappointed to be honest. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't great either. Fairly mediocre in my opinion. I liked several aspects of the game a lot (such as some you mentioned), but some of it still feels so stagnant.

# 13 better wow me...

I'm impressed by this game. its deceptively longer than you think, the side quests could take you days to complete, and there a few you have to be a real clever fucker, or have the guide, to do. it is alos by far the most grown up FF to date. i like the license board system, an the Gambit system is brilliant, you really would be screwed without it. i finished in 95 hours first run,
