I am seriously impressed. I'm very surprised at being this impressed. But this film has exceeded my expectations. The casting is superb, the script is well written, witty and not over the top. All the major Trek cliches seem to have been passed over.

This is a film well worth the effort to see. The basic plot is a Romulan has come back in time to destroy Vulcan and the rest of the Federation for failing to save Romulus from destruction by a star going nova. His problem? A young cadet, and his future best friends ala James T. Kirk, Spock, Scotty, McCoy and the gang, freshly drafted in from the Academy. Fun? Guaranteed. Explosions? By the barrel load.

The film is very fast paced, and shot like a big action film, but still remains Trek. I will definitely be going to see this one in the cinema, and will certainly add it to my DVD collection

might be interesting. Myself i've never liked star trek much but I wouldn't be opposed to something fresh out of it.

I've never been a Star Trek fan and after seeing the trailer for this on TV I'm pretty sure I won't be seeing it. Just looked to be one of those movies that I don't usually watch cause I don't like them.
