Right, here we go. I'm writing this because I'm sick of all the bullshit opinion based on hearsay, anecdotal evidence and all around abysmal science.

Global warming is a natural phenomenon. It has happened before, it will happen again and there isn't a damned thing we can do about it. There is no stopping a force of nature, designed to keep the planet itself healthy and in working order. Global warming is to the planet as detox is to the morons who buy into all that bad science: it's a way of cleansing and reestablishing a balance. And, for anyone out there to claim otherwise, to claim that this is all man made, you just need to look at history, let alone the other sciences. Prime example is that here in the UK, the Romans mysteriously managed to grow an awful lot of grape vine. The mysterious part? That's all to do with a great change in climate, not some weird and wonderful voodoo. If then, that this was once possible, why can't we do it now? Because of the climate change brought on by a natural process of global warming.

Is it just me, or does anyone else agree that it takes an immense amount of hubris to declare that we have single-handedly managed to cripple a planet? How arrogant can the human race get? This isn't to say that we are completely without fault however. Just because we are not the inital cause of this process, don't think we are off the hook. We have still contributed to it, in however a miniscule way. We are still responsible for polluting the skies, the seas and the land. We still have to answer for a gaping orifice in the O3 shell we call the ozone layer, which happens to be our only defence from various sources of spatial radiation. We still have to start forcing our leaders to utilise more alternative energies, legislate companies on waste disposal, recycle more, encourage less packaging et cetera. But we need to be more agressive. We also need to get our heads out of our arses and start thinking of actual viable alternate energy solutions, not the traditional ones we all love to quote, but know nothing about, least of all the fact that on a grand scale they are pretty useless (yes I mean solar, wind, water and wave power, they just aren't viable on a global scale).

Above all, what needs to take place is a mass re-education of the world's population in science. We need to be taught actual science, not the watered down bullshit spoonfed to us at school. We need to be educated properly on things like nuclear energy, like how exactly the physical world works to keep us warm and in food. Once we have actually been educated, perhaps the masses who swallow whole the bullshit from the giant propaganda machine will actually realise there isnt much to be scared of from the nuclear arena anymore. And when people start to actually understand science, we might actually start to get somewhere.
[end rant]
