I guess you could all consider the friend system setup right now quite beta.
Nonetheless, the roots of a friend system are now planted and you can be sure to expect more incorporated with it very soon.
Right now, all that is possible is to request friendship, accept or reject friendships and view who is friends with who.
There will still be a lot of work done in the future for concepts such as restricting blog access to only your friends.
Basically, all that happens now is there is a new button on everyone's profile that allows other members to request friendship from you. When they request friendship you will receive an email and private message on the site letting you know. You can then either reject the request or add the user as your friend. Both parties must consent to a friendship, but only one user needs to desire to end the friendship.
If you have any ideas that we should use for the friend system please share them.
