It is my personal opinion that everything has already been done anyhow. Nothing you or anyone else here has created or so much as THOUGHT of is original or unique.
People have similar visions simply because their minds are running along the same level. Just because a few people might paint a similar vision of heaven doesnt make one "the real deal" and the rest "copy cats".
If art is supposed to be about ideas, thoughts, emotions and feelings then its ignorant to claim that no one is allowed to share similar feelings to that of which another artist before them had already had.
"Freedom" isnt exactly the most unique word either. Its been in about 1 billion other songs, drawings, lyrics and other creations. Freedom has always been a consistent theme in every form of media.
The anarchy symbol again hardly reflects any "lack of creativity". My drawing also had the communist symbol, capitalist symbols among others which were not "copied" in this drawing.
Dont make me get started on the level of creativity on certain art pieces on this site. 90% of the time ive seen something along the same lines as what im looking at on here anyhow. Yet, I realize that it doesnt have to mean that they are purposely ripping it off; maybe they never even saw the other versions and it could be a complete coincidence.
Or as in the case with this, maybe she was simply inspired. And what the hell is so wrong with that anyhow? a good majority art these days is inspired by music, lyrics and so forth. So why is it okay to be inspired by something of a different medium, but not okay to be inspired by something of the same???
I see it as nothing more than personal opinions and predjudicesö not honest or realistic critism. She said it to me and I couldnt agree with it more: "if this art was listed by ´Blem´ then it would have been rated a 10 by you". Thats why this section sucks now, why its sucked shit for over a year and why I dont give two shits about it. Its nothing but a bunch of "were better than everyone else" artists playing the favorite game and rating everyones art based on who they are, not what the art is. I see it all the time with art from you to Medge to Blem to whoever the fuck else. If you think Im the only person who thinks like this, youre in for a surprise.
I almost guarantee that if I did a little experiment here hiding the artists names from every piece of art before ANYONE could rate it, I guarnatee we would have some VERY VERY VERY different ratings going on.
Take me for example compared to her drawing. Her drawing is next to the same style as me. One big difference between them is hers is done in ink creating much better contrast than mine, which was done in pencil. Irregardless, my drawing was posted with the name "Lev" next to it, so it gets 9s and 10s instead.
I dont really give a shit what anyone else says or whats to think, everyones allowed to have their own opinion. Just as I am allowed to have my own to dissagree. I think its a great drawing and will save it forever. I like how things flowed together better on it than in mine in which things just seemed to float around each other. To me, things seem to run smoother in this one, granted much of it is just shapes and design. I think its really good though and I dont say that because I am bias to who you are. In fact, doesnt matter what else anyone knows about so and so, but at the moment im actually quite pissed and depressed because of you. I am rating it highly not cause I am impartial to the person doing it, since it would really just be more fitting for me to rate it a 1 and piss her off, but maybe its bias simply because I love this style of art.
